How Kingillion works
Kingillion is a throne for the whole internet. One person at a time sits on it, and their picture paints the king of a voxel castle floating above the clouds, with their name, a message and a link.
Preview: coronations are by invitation while payments are being set up.
Take the throne
- Upload a picture, choose a name, add a link if you like and a message for the king you are replacing.
- Pay at least 12.45% more than the current king.
- Your portrait paints the king on the throne and flies on the banners of every tower.
- You reign until somebody pays more: minutes or months, nobody knows.
The Million Wall
Every king stays forever on the wall behind the throne: one million pixels, and the longer the reign, the bigger the portrait. Zoom in and each one stays crisp, pixel by pixel.
Explore the castle
Walk the throne room, then out through the great gate onto the floating island: an enchanted grove, a pond with fish, owls at night and fireworks for every new king. Day and night follow the island clock.
Questions
- Is Kingillion a game or a lottery?
- No. You buy display space on this page: your picture, your name, a message and a link, shown for as long as you are king. There are no prizes, no winners and nothing to win back.
- How much does the throne cost?
- At least 12.45% more than the last king paid. The very first king paid €1.00. The current price is always on the Take the throne button.
- How long will I reign?
- Until somebody pays more. Nobody can promise a minimum time, so only pay what the space is worth to you.
- Can I get a refund?
- No. Your reign starts the moment you pay, so the right of withdrawal ends when the display begins.
- Can I add a link to my site?
- Yes, one link per reign, shown on your portrait and in the hall of kings. Links are marked as sponsored, and illegal, adult or gambling links are refused.
- Is it like the Million Dollar Homepage?
- In spirit, yes. In 2005 the Million Dollar Homepage sold a million pixels for a dollar each. Kingillion sells one throne at a time, and keeps every king who ever reigned on its own Million Wall of one million pixels.
- Who runs Kingillion?
- Kingillion is run by Polyphorm di A.M., a sole proprietorship in Italy (VAT IT05496490755).
